The Eagles are two spots above the Cats in sixth place on the AFL ladder but Geelong at home is favoured to win.

If it does it will extend the side's unbeaten run to five matches.

West Australian teams have demonstrated an inability to win away from their home base of Subiaco this year but West Coast managed to upset Carlton by one point in round 12 to upset the trend.

Graham said the match was vital for the Cats, who have been re-invigorated by the mid-season success.

``There is a real belief there now, a feeling that the club and Bomber (coach Mark Thompson) are on the right track,'' Graham said.

``We are probably further advanced than we thought we would be at this stage of the year but the key is to consolidate ourselves and not look too far ahead.

``Even though we've won four in a row this game is more important in the scheme of things.

``We are trying to create a home ground advantage and create a situation where, while West Coast is above us, we have more of a steely resolve,'' he said.
