IT may have been a tough few weeks for Beau, Corey and Dion Smith but yesterday the children had a bit of luck go their way when Garry Hocking arrived on their doorstep.

The former Geelong champion presented the young boys, whose mother died while giving birth, with a new swing set courtesy of Australian Treated Pine where he works.

Hocking then took them into the street for a kick of footy.

Their dad, Craig, said the swingset had lifted the boys' spirits greatly.

``It's great. It will put a smile back on their faces. As soon as they saw it their faces lit up,'' Craig said.

``They're so stoked. They haven't got off it. It was raining yesterday but they were still out in the cubby.''

Hocking said he was delighted to present the swing set to the Smiths.

``No doubt it will take the focus off things for a few days, a few weeks,'' Hocking said.

``I was such a tragic loss. I want to see some happiness in their lives.''
