A football skills clinic involving current and past AFL and local senior football celebrities, as well as a celebrities versus kids game and lunch make up part of the fun-filled day.

Lunch will be followed by a Geelong Junior Football match between Torquay and East Geelong in the U16 Division 4.

All money raised will be directed towards improving facilities for the Trevor Barker Foundation House located on The Esplanade, Torquay.

The home which provides free accommodation allows children with cancer or other life threatening blood disorders and their families to take a break from hospital routine. It is also used by grieving parents.

Former Geelong footballer Bill Brownless is heavily involved with the Trevor Barker Foundation.

Brownless played against Barker and clearly remembers the day that he caught Trevor in full flight with a deft tackle that had Barker pinged for holding the ball.

Brownless said the house was a special place for children and families to enjoy a good time in the fresh ocean air away from the hospital.

The day begins at 9.30am at the Torquay Football Ground.

Entry to the ground will be free with participation in the activities open to all children between five and 14 years of age. Registration will commence at 9.30am sharp for a gold entry fee.

All children involved in the day will receive a Trevor Barker/Geelong Junior Football Certificate of Participation.
