Football Geelong chief executive Phil Clohesy said yesterday the organisation was particularly excited about the proposed addition to the Alex Popescu Room, the Sports House complex, and the possibility of re-locating business within the sporting precinct of Kardinia Park.
``The Sports House concept provides an ideal solution to Football Geelong's most pressing problem, we have massively outgrown our current administration base at Highton Reserve,'' Clohesy said. He said Football Geelong had a vision to expand to introduce Sport Geelong, as more local sporting organisations identified the benefits of the modern-day community sports management model and move to optimise management, marketing and club development strategies.
``Our prediction is that in the not too distant future clubs, as well as leagues and associations, will adopt employee-based management of community sport,'' he said.
``Football Geelong's position is that the Sport House concept will be able to provide a stimulating work environment that provides meaningful support, education, guidance and professional development for the new breed of community sports managers.''
