CATS legend Bob Davis has been immortalised in oil.

The painting, unveiled at the president's lunch at Skilled Stadium yesterday, captures Davis in full flight in front of the Brownlow-Young stand. In the background the club's 1952 premiership flag flies.

Davis said he was privileged to follow in a long line of Geelong footballers who have been the subject of Geelong artist Cheryl Ketchen.

A loyal club man and family man, the painting features members of Davis' family in the crowd scene.

Also included is coach Reg Hickey, Jack Jennings, Geelong's longest-serving president, and Ambrose Curtis, a Geelong Advertiser football writer who followed Davis' career closely
