AFL ROUND 21 2012;
GEELONG V ST KILDA; MATCH PREVIEW By Ben Jensen twitter.com/thecattery GEELONG CATS V ST KILDA SAINTS GEELONG host St Kilda at Etihad Stadium tomorrow night. Geelong has made five changes and St Kilda three, the Saints losing skipper Nick Riewoldt through a knee injury. The Cats recall Premiership players Paul Chapman, Josh Hunt, Trent West, James Kelly and Joel Corey. They lose two players to injury - Allen Christensen (groin) and Orren Stephenson (hand), while David Wojcinski, Cam Guthrie and Jackson Sheringham are all omitted. In the VFL Geelong plays Coburg, who may be playing their last ever match in the VFL. The Saints have one of the shortest injury lists in the league, unfortunately for them Riewoldt is now on it after pulling up sore early in their match against Melbourne last Saturday. Of the five returning at least a couple will be a bit ginger, as indeed will Tom Hawkins be after being knocked out last Friday against the Eagles.

AFL 2011, ROUND 13, SATURDAY 18 JUNE 2011 19:10 AEST, MCG CATS MAKE MCG CLASH A ONE SIDED AFFAIR By Ben Jensen twitter.com/thecattery ST KILDA SAINTS V GEELONG CATS GEELONG beat St Kilda by 28 points in a match that was a lot more one-sided than the scoreboard suggests. St Kilda led by 3 points at the first break but from then on it was pretty much all one way, the Cats outscoring the Saints by 6 goals to 1 in the second quarter and broke even the other two to ensure they retained bragging rights for the season. Dan Menzel was prominent up front for the Cats with 4 goals, joined by other multiple goal-kickers in Matty Stokes, James Podsiadly, Nathan Vardy (who has been terrific since coming into the side) and Paul Chapman. Chapman had 25 disposals including a team-high 17 kicks in addition to the 2 goals, and was just about our pick for best. Joel Corey though probably just edged him out for consistency throughout the match and the sheer number of possessions and was named best afield.
