The bottom of the ladder Lions made three changes, Dayne Beams and Pearce Hanley among three inclusions. Lara boy and 2011 Premiership player Allen Christensen will be running around for the Lions and not the Cats in his first return visit.

VICTORIAN FINAL AFL ROUND 23 2014; GEELONG CATS V BRISBANE LIONS GEELONG overcame a challenge by Brisbane in the third quarter before putting the foot down and running out sixty-two point winners. A career high seven goals from Tom Hawkins and three from Josh Caddy gave fans plenty to shout about, while the Lions had a red hot go before the Cats got in top in third quarter to lead by seven goals at the final break. The lead at one stage blew out to over seventy points, the Cats scoring five goals to two in the final term. Geelong plays Hawthorn next Friday night at the MCG in the second qualifying final; the Hawks finishing second behind the Swans on percentage, both having equal wins as the Cats. Fremantle beat Port Adelaide earlier today to secure fourth spot; Port finishing sixth. Essendon overcame the ASADA/supplements scandal to finish seventh under Bomber Thompson while Richmond amazingly beat Sydney at ANZ Stadium, securing eighth spot. GEELONG:
