ROUND 20, SATURDAY 6 AUGUST 2011 13:40 AEST; SKILLED STADIUM CATS BELT SUNS BY 150 POINTS By Ben Jensen twitter.com/thecattery GEELONG CATS V GOLD COAST SUNS GEELONG spanked the Gold Coast at Skilled Stadium today by 150 points and still (almost) looked rusty. The Cats had the upper hand from the opening bounce and although the Suns managed to kick three opening quarter goals and at one point hold the Cats' margin to just one behind, thanks to three opening quarter goals to Steve Johnson the Cats juggernaut was impossible to halt, the quarter and half-time leads being 31 and 94 points. The Suns awakened in the third term as many punters remained in the bar area of the Skilled Stadium grandstands, bringing up three straight goals before the Cats could score. But Geelong managed three of their own for the term and finished with a 7 goal to nil final term to win by 150 points in front of 24,888 people. In other Cats related news, 1950s Premiership great Russell 'Hooker' Renfrey was sighted parking his car legally, for the first time this season. The win was Geelong's 29th consecutive at Skilled Stadium, the last time they tasted defeat there was round 21 2007 against Port Adelaide.
GEELONG:
8.1, 18.4, 21.8, 29.14 (188) DEFEATED GOALS BEST INJURIES CROWD: 24,588 at Skilled Stadium, Geelong
