AFL 2016 ROUND 4: ESSENDON BOMBERS
V GEELONG CATS; MATCH PREVIEW & FINAL TEAMS AFL ROUND 4 2016: ESSENDON BOMBERS V GEELONG CATS THREE CHANGES by the Cats and the Bombers for the 'inaugural Country Game' at the MCG this Saturday afternoon. Tom Ruggles as expected held onto his position with Tom Lonergan, Jordan Murdoch and Cory Gregson comin back into the side at the expense of Corey Enright ('managed') and the omitted young pair Lincoln McCarthy and Jake Kolodjashnij. Jed Bews along with this pair are named as emergencies. The Bombers have dropped three players including serial pest Ryan Crowley, bringing back Craig Bird, Conor McKenna and Jayden Laverde.
UMPIRES FIELD: Hay, McInerney, Mitchell EMERGENCY: Harris TIP: Cats by 37 points MATCH PREVIEW by Willem van Denderen Geelong will travel to Melbourne for the second time in 2016 this Saturday to meet a still largely unknown Essendon side. Currently in fifth position with two wins and a loss, the Cats will be hoping to bank another four points against the unfancied Bombers and potentially enter the top four by the conclusion of the round. Even at this early phase of the season the Bombers have found themselves where many had predicted, at the foot of the ladder. Languishing in fifteenth, the Dons have struggled for any consistency so far in 2016, something expected given the exceptional circumstances of their season. Nevertheless John Worsfold's conglomerate side of rookies, old hands and top-ups will only benefit from more time together, and may cause the Cats a few issues come Saturday afternoon. KEEP READING.
